Mystery $1,000 Kettle Donor Strikes Again
Roseville, Minn. – December 14, 2011 – Is a mystery donor stuffing $1,000 cash into kettles around the Twin Cities? For the fifth time The Salvation Army has pulled out a tightly folded stack of 10 crisp hundred dollar bills from its kettles. Once is great, twice is a coincidence, but five times - now that's a pattern. And a pattern The Salvation Army loves to see as it has hit 33 percent of its Christmas Campaign goal of $11.4 million. The campaign closes on December 31 with the red kettles out only until Christmas Eve. So far the Army has raised $3.8 million.
Along with giving at the iconic red kettles, donors may also text "Blessing" to 85944 for a $10 donation which will be added to your cell phone bill or give online or by calling 800-SAL-ARMY (725-2769) or mailing a check to The Salvation Army, 2445 Prior AVE, Roseville MN 55113.
The Twin Cities Salvation Army serves more than 288,000 people a year through its 25 local centers of operation. Daily it serves 2,500 hot meals and shelters 970 people. More than 33,000 local volunteers help The Salvation Army provide these and other services, from child daycare to senior housing. Click below to make an online donation.
